The September BoardLinks networking event brought together Queensland-based established and up and coming directors, including BoardLinks candidates, AICD scholarship winners and local chairs and directors.
Sally Pitkin FAICD, Division President of Queensland for the Australian Institute of Company Directors, hosted the event at Brisbane City Hall.
Speaking at the event, former Minister for Women, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, addressed the progress in achieving the Government’s target of 50 per cent women on Government boards and developments for the BoardLinks programme, including strengthening accountability and diversifying and expanding its database.
“I’m pleased to report, that we are also expanding and diversifying BoardLinks through a standalone nomination round. This will have a renewed focus on adding strong, qualified candidates from sectors and community groups who are currently underrepresented. This includes Indigenous women, women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and women with disability.” – Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, former Minister for Women
The evening event brought together a mix of Queensland based BoardLinks candidates, AICD members, local board chairs and directors including Ms Elizabeth Sherratt from PwC, Ms Karen Jaques GAICD from 3P and Ms Georgia Henry GAICD from Henry Reed Pty Ltd, and AICD Chair’s Mentoring Program participants. AICD scholarship winners and the new First Assistant Secretary of the Office for Women, Trish Bergin, also attended.
